Sports notebook: Womach wins President’s Cup

Liberty Lake Women’s 18 Hole Golf Club completed its three-week President’s Cup tournament.

Dorothy Womach was this year’s winner with a net 216 score and also took the fewest putts competition with 89.

Flight winners were: First flight – Jean Hatcher with 232; second flight – Carol Blume, 218; third flight – Maggie Steffy, 226, and fourth flight – Coleen Wisenor, 227.

The group also played monthly Liberty Cup competition, and Womach was the June winner in that contest as well with net 67 and 27 putts.

A flight low putts winners were Jan Rooney and Kathy Brown with 29 apiece. Elsa Metting won B flight with 28, Jean Fulks won C with 30 and Judy Stroup won D flight with 31.

Trailhead medal play

Trailhead Ladies Golf Club conducted its weekly medal play.

Cherie Millsap recorded the week’s lowest score, winning A flight with 52.

Mary Anne Evans shot 53 in B flight and Peg Nadvornick had 63 in C. Renee Begovich was no-handicap winner with a score of 64.

Net winners were Shirley Rodman in A with 32, Marge Hutchison in B with 30 and Marilyn Collins in C with 37.
