Dodgers 10, Blue Jays 1: At Toronto, Brad Penny became the second nine-game winner in the N.L., Russell Martin homered in his first major league game in his native Canada and Los Angeles routed the Blue Jays.

Twins 9, Mets 0: At New York, Johan Santana pitched a four-hitter – with only one strikeout – for his first shutout in nearly two years, and Minnesota took advantage of four early errors to whip the Mets.

Tigers 15, Nationals 1: At Washington, Sean Casey hit his first home run of the season, and Detroit pounded out 17 hits in a romp over the Nationals.

Phillies 9, Indians 6: At Cleveland, Ryan Howard hit a 451-foot homer and drove in four runs, leading Philadelphia over the Indians and helping Kyle Kendrick to his first major league victory.

Cardinals 5, Royals 1: At St. Louis, Brad Thompson pitched seven strong innings and Chris Duncan homered for the third time in five game to lead the Cardinals over Kansas City.

Rockies 3, Yankees 1: At Denver, Josh Fogg won for the first time at Coors Field this season, holding New York to four hits over seven innings as Colorado topped the Yankees.

Red Sox 4, Braves 0: At Atlanta, Josh Beckett pitched six scoreless innings to become baseball’s second 10-game winner this season as Boston blanked the Braves.

Cubs 5, Rangers 4: At Arlington, Texas, Derrek Lee doubled home the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and Chicago held off the Rangers. Texas’ Sammy Sosa remained stuck on 599 career homers.

Marlins 7, White Sox 5: At Chicago, Dan Uggla homered leading off the ninth inning and Florida rallied to beat the White Sox.

Reds 5, Athletics 2: At Oakland, Calif., Ken Griffey Jr. belted his 19th home run of the season and 582nd of his career to lead Cincinnati to its first regular-season win over the Athletics.

Astros 9, Angels 5: At Anaheim, Calif., Carlos Lee homered and drove in four runs, Hunter Pence had three hits with a tiebreaking two-run homer, and Houston beat Los Angeles.

Padres 12, Orioles 6: At San Diego, Marcus Giles and Khalil Greene drove in three runs apiece as the Padres handed Baltimore its ninth straight loss.

Diamondbacks 10, Devil Rays 8 (10): At Phoenix, Chris Young hit a one-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to lead Arizona over Tampa Bay for the first time in eight tries.
