People: Miley won’t walk in their shoes
Billy Ray Cyrus is crossing his fingers that his daughter, “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus, won’t go the way of Lindsay and Paris and Britney.
He even shows her articles about the Hollywood troublemakers as cautionary tales.
So far, so good.
“The biggest phenomenon in all this is that the kid’s been able to keep her head on her shoulders,” the 45-year-old country singer tells People magazine. “She hasn’t flipped out. I’m going to knock on wood.”
He adds: “I pray every day she can stay on that path.”
Cyrus, who recently completed a stint on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” co-stars with 14-year-old Miley on the hit Disney Channel series about a country-girl-turned-pop-star who tries to keep her celebrity life a secret from her classmates.
“We’re really close,” says Miley, who saw her “Hannah Montana” soundtrack go double platinum last year.
“I feel like I can tell my dad anything. When we come home, we forget that we even work together and just hang out.”

Why, that water weasel
Horror film director Wes Craven (“A Nightmare on Elm Street,” “Scream”) is suing his neighbor, Pauly Shore, claiming that water from the comedian’s home seeped down a slope and damaged his property.
He says a landslide occurred in December after Shore upgraded his home with a pool, spa, landscaping and other improvements.

Singer Johnny Rodriguez, who topped the country music charts in the 1970s, has been charged with three felony drug counts.
Blanchard, Okla., police who stopped Rodriguez for speeding last week found what they believed to be bags of marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an open container of beer in his pickup truck.
He had six No. 1 hits including “I Just Can’t Get Her Out of My Mind,” “Love Put a Song in My Heart” and “That’s the Way Love Goes.”

Noting that the crook was operating overseas, an online security consultant said: “They really stumble over our culture. He’s probably not watching any reruns of ‘The Munsters’ on TV Land.”
