An evening of cowboy fun

Dust off your spurs and git ready for a chuck wagon-worthy meal and an evening of entertainment by cowboy poets and musicians.

It’s all happening at 6:30 p.m. July 5 at the Post Falls Senior Center, 1215 E. Third Ave. Advance tickets are $10 and are available from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays at the center. Or seats can be reserved ahead of time for the same price by calling 773-9582. At the door, tickets will be $15.

Beginning at 7 p.m., a herd of Western entertainers will take the floor. Headliner Rod Erickson will kick things off. He’ll belt out both country and gospel tunes and share his award-winning talent for yodeling.

Cowboy poet Rich Bellert, the musical trio of Banjo Jack & the String-Alongs and cow-gal Hilma “Volcano” Volk will tickle the crowd with her ventriloquism, country-fried humor and rhyming stories.

“It’s just a terrific time. We had them here two years ago and we had a really big crowd,” Fish said.

Vittles will include deep-fried chicken, potato salad and watermelon.
