Padres 4, Giants 2: At San Francisco, Greg Maddux, 41, earned his 340th career victory, outpitching someone nearly half his age, 22-year-old Matt Cain, to lead San Diego over the Giants. Maddux won for the fourth time in five decisions.

Cubs 6, Rockies 4: At Chicago, Carlos Zambrano won for the fourth time in five starts, and the Cubs beat Colorado to extend their winning streak to six games.

Brewers 6, Astros 3 (11): At Milwaukee, Damian Miller hit his first homer of the season, a three-run shot that sailed into the Milwaukee bullpen in the 11th inning and lifted the Brewers past Houston.

Pirates 7, Marlins 5 (10): At Miami, Xavier Nady and Ryan Doumit hit back-to-back home runs with two outs in the 10th inning and Pittsburgh defeated Florida to win consecutive road games for the first time in a month.

Braves 13, Nationals 0: At Atlanta, Chipper Jones drove in four runs to back a strong start from John Smoltz, helping the Braves beat Washington. Atlanta had a season-high 22 hits and scored in six of the first seven innings, snapping a five-game losing streak in which it scored one run against Detroit and Boston.

Mets 2, Cardinals 0 (5 1/2): At New York, Tom Glavine earned his 297th win, pitching one-hit ball for six innings in a rain-shortened shutout of St. Louis.

Reds 9, Phillies 6: At Philadelphia, Javier Valentin hit a tiebreaking RBI double in the eighth inning and Adam Dunn added a two-run homer to lead Cincinnati.

Diamondbacks 2, Dodgers 0: At Phoenix, Brandon Webb threw seven shutout innings to lead Arizona over Los Angeles.
