People: Meet the new Mr. Las Vegas

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

Michael Jackson is living in Las Vegas and considering proposals to perform there.

Jackson “has been presented numerous proposals – proposals which he has not solicited, but were presented to him, several of which include performing in Las Vegas,” spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain, says, adding: “He does not believe that he is under any time constraint for making his decisions.”

Bain also denies reports that Jackson has failed to find a Las Vegas casino for a show and that he planned to appear on “American Idol.”

“Mr. Jackson did not move to Las Vegas to shop a Vegas show,” she says, but “likes the city and found it a convenient location to record with the artists, songwriters and producers who are working with him in the studio.”

The pop icon took up residence in Las Vegas a few months ago after traveling in Europe and living in Bahrain and Ireland.

He still maintains his Neverland ranch in California but has not lived there since his acquittal on child molestation charges in 2005.

Tin roof, nine lives?

Jackson pal Elizabeth Taylor, decked out in diamonds and fur, arrived fashionably late to her 75th birthday party Tuesday at a Las Vegas-area resort.

The Hollywood icon was in a wheelchair when she came down the red carpet escorted by her 52-year-old son, Christopher Wilding, who shares the same birthday.

When asked about the secret to her longevity, she quipped: “Hangin’ in.”

Welcome to the county hotel

Paris Hilton could have her probation revoked – possibly resulting in jail time – for driving with a suspended license.

The 26-year-old hotel heiress and reality TV star was ticketed for misdemeanor driving with a suspended license after being pulled over for speeding Tuesday on Sunset Boulevard.

In January, Hilton pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving. She could face up to 90 days in jail if a judge finds she violated her probation from that.

Did he – or him?

Elsewhere on the celebrity blotter, rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been accused of punching a man at the famed Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel early on Oscar day.

And police are investigating reports that singer James Blunt, with supermodel girlfriend Petra Nemcova in tow, ran over someone’s foot with his black SUV as he tried to avoid paparazzi while leaving a party Saturday.

Clearing her conscience

Supermodel Naomi Campbell says she regrets losing her temper and hitting her maid with a cell phone over a pair of missing jeans.

“I have a deep sense of shame for the things I’ve done,” she says, blaming it on “tiredness, lack of sleep (and) just so many things. … I was being really destructive to myself.”

Campbell, who has a reputation for angry outbursts, says she’s turned to crystal therapy.
