All-star games at Mullan

The 22nd annual District I boys and girls all-star basketball games, featuring the top seniors from the Panhandle, will be played Friday at the Mullan Athletic Pavilion.

The girls game will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at about 8.

The teams are decided by using Highway 95 as a dividing line between east and west. Changes have been made to allow the teams to be more equally balanced.

Here are the teams:

Girls

East: Stephanie Cantrell, Sara Priest and Amethyst Aitken, Kellogg; Cara Hayman, Krista Williams and Lisa Caver, Wallace; Cassie Scheffelmaier and Kendra Willms, Kootenai; Riki Moreland and Brittany Bemis, Lake City; Sam Siron, St. Maries; Katlyn Valerio, Mullan; and Sean Topp, Post Falls.

They will be coached by Steve Bourgard of Kellogg and Kirby Krulitz of Wallace.

West: Lindsey Stark and Jenna DeLong, Coeur d’Alene; Natalie Nichols, Katie Hoye and Amanda North, Lakeland; Rayna Allen, Clark Fork; Ashley Porter, Holli Edelblute and Lorna Grant, Timberlake; Shelby Hatfield and Shanna Willig, Priest River; Vicki Sifford, Lakeside; and Kaitie Poston, Bonners Ferry.

They will be coached by Steve Seymour of Lakeland and Dexter Vogel of Clark Fork.

Boys

East: Ty Stoddard, Lake City; Josh McDonald and Alex Johnson, Kellogg; Brandon Haas and Spencer Pingel, Post Falls; Drake Hanson, Brett Allen, Pete Gibson and Nate Bessler, Sandpoint; Jesse Bennett and Brian Lavergne, Wallace; Steve Coy, Mullan; Jeff Ness, Cody Kraack and Anthony Cranford, Kootenai; Micah and Cody Smith and Dustin Lehman, Priest River; and Cameron Jeffres, Clark Fork.

They will be coached by Bill Ryan of Priest River.

West: Nate Bligh, Leon Duplessis and Austin Heleker, Coeur d’Alene; Cody Jones, Casey Denton, Logan Cook and Felix Schreier, Timberlake; Jesus Mendez, Josh Hawks and James Krejci, Bonners Ferry; Bubba Bartlett, Lynn Mallory and Matt Simpson, Lakeland; and Josiah Menzies, Chris Shaw, Austin Folnagy and David Baker, Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy.

They will be coached by Kent Leiss of Coeur d’Alene.

A 3-point shooting contest will be held during halftime of the girls game and a 3-point shooting and dunk contest will be held during halftime of the boys game.

Scholarships will be awarded to the most valuable players of both games.
