Cal coach excited to be going home
BERKELEY, Calif. – Joanne Boyle is going home for California’s first-round NCAA tournament game against Notre Dame.
“I was born in Philadelphia, but we moved to Pittsburgh when I was 10,” the Golden Bears coach said Monday after her squad received a No. 8 seed. “That’s where I grew up. I still have two sisters who live there. I’ve got a ton of family there.”
A good portion of that family should be in the stands when the Bears (23-8) tip off against the ninth-seeded Irish (19-11) in Pittsburgh on Sunday.
