Plan commission has vacancy

Kootenai County is accepting applications for its voluntary planning commission.

The vacancy is open after Commissioner Charlie Rens, a Hayden real estate agent and builder, resigned because of other commitments. Rens also is president of the North Idaho Building Contractors Association.

The commission makes recommendations to the Kootenai County commission on land-use issues and is working to rewrite the county’s comprehensive plan, which is the foundation of all land-use decisions.

Applicants must have lived in the county for two years and be available for morning, lunch and evening workshops and hearings.
