8t to Watch: Nick Young

The Spokesman-Review

The junior swingman seemingly spent as much time dunking as he did shooting from the perimeter Thursday during the Trojans’ 40-minute session in the Arena. If Young does any dunking today, he’ll have to challenge the taller Razorbacks. Dunking or not, Young must be much more involved in USC’s offensive attack than he was the last two games of the Pacific-10 Conference tournament. He took just 15 shots in those games. USC coach Tim Floyd summed up Young’s value. “I think his game has grown,” Floyd said. “I think he sees the game outside of just playing with the ball in his hands. … He’s a guy – late-clock situations – who can go get his own shot and shoot that shot for a percentage or take that shot and go get fouled. And I think you have to have that type of player at any level in order to move forward.” By Greg Lee, Staff writer
