Holy Week events

Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene will hold its annual “Eggcentric Extravaganza” community Easter party Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be an Easter egg hunt, food, relay games and more. The evening is open to the public and will be held at the church, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave. For more information, call (208) 664-9231.

“St. John’s Orthodox Church in Post Falls will celebrate Holy Week with a special service at 6:30 p.m. each weekday evening at the church, 4718 E. Horsehaven. In addition, there will be the Vespers of taking down Christ from the cross at 4 p.m. Friday. For more information, call (208) 777-1128.

“The Spokane Dream Center will put on an Easter drama titled “Behold the Lamb: The Real Story of Jesus” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the INB Performing Arts Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd. Admission is free. For more information, call (509) 924-2630.

“The Metaline Falls Congregational United Church of Christ will host a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. Thursday and a Tenebrae service at 7 p.m. on Good Friday. The church is at 101 W. Fifth, Metaline Falls. For more information, call (509) 446-3301.

“The Lutheran Church of the Master at 4800 N. Ramsey Road in Coeur d’Alene will host the performance of an Easter cantata by the church’s choir during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services Sunday. “The congregations of Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church and the Korean Presbyterian Church will host a joint Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. at the Korean Presbyterian Church, 1727 E. Pacific. “A performance of the Easter drama “Crossing Over” will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Unity Church, 29th and Bernard. Admission is by donation. For more information, call the church at (509) 838-6518.

“The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th, will host an afternoon full of events on Good Friday. It will begin with a Liturgy at noon, followed by meditations on the Passion of Christ at 1 p.m. The Stations of the Cross will begin at 2 p.m. The day will close with a Tenebrae service at 7 p.m. For more information, call (509) 838-4277.

Double Portion Ministries

Two women will speak about getting involved in a cult in Southern California, and how they eventually made their escape, today from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2733 W. Northwest Blvd. All are invited to attend.
