Boys soccer

Connor Hennessey buried his penalty kick in a 4-3 shootout and Ferris edged Central Valley 2-1 in a District 8 4A loser-out game at Joe Albi Stadium on Wednesday.

Alec Cutter scored to tie the game for Ferris (11-5) in the 68th minute. Kevin Cameron scored CV’s (7-6) goal in the 20th minute.

Also at Albi, Mead advanced after trouncing Gonzaga Prep 7-0 in a loser-out contest. Tim Doggett had his first career hat trick for Mead during 19 minutes of the first half. Cameron Bushey added a goal and an assist. Mead will play Ferris at 5 p.m. Friday at Albi.

Baseball

All Greater Spokane League games were rained out. University will play at Rogers today at 1 p.m. and host Rogers at 4:30 p.m. Lewis and Clark will play a doubleheader at Gonzaga Prep today, starting at 2 p.m. Mead will play a doubleheader at Shadle Park today, starting at 3 p.m. Central Valley hosts Mt. Spokane today at 4 p.m. East Valley and Ferris will play twice today, starting at 1 p.m. On Friday, Central Valley visits Mt. Spokane at 4 p.m.
