Feature creature: Mary

Marian Wilson Correspondent

Mary is a high-energy chocolate-colored dog that would do best in a country home with space to roam and liberty to bark.

She is good with other dogs but prefers them to be submissive. She is calm and relaxed in the right setting and enjoys car trips and outings.

Mary qualifies for a discounted adoption fee through the Lonely Hearts Club. If you’ve got a dog-friendly, cat-free environment, visit Mary at the Kootenai Humane Society, 11650 N. Ramsey Road, in Hayden, or call 772-4019 to learn more.

Can’t adopt, but want to help? Support spaying and neutering programs through the Concerned People for Animals fundraiser today at its annual yard/bake sale. All proceeds will go to help spay and neuter cats and dogs in our community. Microchipping also will be available on site for $10. The fundraiser will run from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 5470 Anne St. in Coeur d’Alene.

Call 667-6382 for more information.
