Rusty Shellhorn allowed five hits while striking out nine as Central Valley (10-10) upset host Mt. Spokane 5-4 Friday on the final Greater Spokane League regular-season game of the season.

Bryan Raynor hit a two-run homer in the second for the Wildcats (18-2), who remain the top seed entering the district playoffs.

“West Valley swept host Colville on the final day of Great Northern League regular-season action. D.J. Mackie went 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs as the Eagles won the opener 12-4. Tommy Peterson and Andrew McLead each added two RBIs for West Valley. In the second game, Trevor Fox allowed one run on eight hits in the complete game as the Eagles won 6-1. Gavin Earnhart hit a solo home run in the third for WV. … Elsewhere in the GNL, Pullman swept a doubleheader from host Riverside (4-15, 2-12). JT Levenseller hit a three-run home run in the third and an RBI triple in the sixth as the Greyhounds won the opener 10-1. Levenseller also picked up the win for Pullman after allowing three hits in the complete game. In the second game, Levenseller went 2 for 3 with four RBIs as the Greyhounds won 10-4. Because Pullman (14-5, 11-3) and WV (15-5, 11-3) are tied atop the league standings, there will be a coin flip Sunday to determine the first and second seeds into the district tournament. … Cheney beat host Medical Lake in a doubleheader. Blane Gibson went 2 for 4, including a home run, and drove in three runs as the Blackhawks won the opener 13-5. In the second game, Cheney scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh and beat Medical Lake 7-5. Justin Walker hit a walk-off three-run home run for the Blackhawks in the seventh. … Clarkston swept host Deer Park (2-16, 1-13) in a doubleheader. Cary Conklin hit a two-run double in the fourth as the Bantams won the opener 8-1. Trent Line earned the win for Clarkston. In the second game, Conklin hit a three-run home run in the Bantams’ six-run fourth as Clarkston won 20-0. Don Perconti scored four times for the Bantams. … Pairings have been set for the District 7 2A tournament. Third-seeded Clarkston (11-9, 10-4) will host sixth-seeded Colville (7-10, 6-8) while fourth-seeded Cheney (11-9, 8-6) will host fifth-seeded Medical Lake (8-12, 7-7). Both games are at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

“Colfax scored nine runs in the top of the seventh and routed host Kettle Falls (6-10) 14-2 in a Northeast A League playoff game. Eli Smith picked up the win for the Bulldogs and also hit a three-run double. Colfax (9-11) advances to play Cashmere at 11 a.m. today in the loser-out pigtail game in Moses Lake.

“Bonners Ferry earned the Intermountain League title after beating St. Maries in the second game of a doubleheader. Chad Nordhagen broke a 5-all tie with an RBI triple in the sixth inning and gave Bonners Ferry a 6-5 win in the second game. St. Maries won the opener 8-3. Pairings have been set for the District I 3A tournament. Fourth-seeded Timberlake (3-18, 3-8) will play fifth-seeded Kellogg (3-13, 2-10) in a loser-out game Tuesday at Timberlake. Second-seeded St. Maries (12-10, 8-4) will play third-seeded Priest River (10-9, 7-5) Friday at 4 p.m. at Lakeland High School. Top-seeded Bonners Ferry (17-6, 9-2) will play the winner between Timberlake and Kellogg Friday at 4 p.m. at Timberlake High School.

Softball

Clarkston (9-11, 8-6) swept a doubleheader from host Deer Park (5-15, 2-12) on the final day of the Great Northern League regular season. Tara Ball scored in the eighth inning to give the Bantams a 3-2 win in the opener. In the second game, Clarkston scored three runs in the top of the fifth and beat the Stags 13-1 in five innings. … Elsewhere in the GNL, Medical Lake (7-9, 5-7) swept a doubleheader from host Cheney (6-14, 3-11). Carey Campbell hit for the cycle and drove in six runs as the Cardinals won the opener 13-12. Liz Walker added two hits for Medical Lake, including a solo home run. In the second game, Richelle Daily hit a grand slam in the fourth and Medical Lake won 11-8. Campbell added two hits and three RBIs for the Cardinals. … Pullman (15-4, 12-2) swept host Riverside (3-14, 2-10) in a doubleheader. Robyn Druffel hit a two-run single in the fourth as the Greyhounds won the opener 11-5. In the second game, Pullman scored eight runs in the second and won 15-1 in five innings. Druffel hit a two-run single in the first for the Greyhounds and Katie Hinrich added a two-run single in the second. … West Valley’s doubleheader at Colville has been rescheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday. The District 7 2A tournament starts May 12 in Medical Lake.
