Sasquatch finish 7th
Community Colleges of Spokane won its first game Saturday at the NWAACC tournament in Portland, but the Sasquatch were ousted after falling to Wenatchee Valley.
Ranzy York’s two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Wenatchee Valley (39-13) a 7-5 win over CCS. Amber Keeler had given CCS a one-run lead with a solo shot in the top of the seventh.
CCS topped Everett (45-12) 12-4 earlier in the day. Jackie Purser hit a three-run home run for CCS in the first.
CCS (24-22) finished the tournament in seventh place.
“Sophomore Danielle Lawrie pitched a complete-game five-hitter and struck out five as Washington (37-16) blanked Georgia 8-0 in the second round of the NCAA regional tournament in Lincoln, Neb.
