Dead man found in crashed car

ALOHA, Ore. – Deputies responding to a car crash Sunday found a man in the driver’s seat with gunshot wounds, Washington County authorities said.

Constantino Cruz, 27, of Aloha was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, where he later died, said Sgt. Bob Ray, spokesman for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Ray said the car, a 2000 Dodge Neon, was the only vehicle involved in the crash that happened at an intersection in a neighborhood near Aloha.

The orange car was found in the middle of the street, and no other vehicles were around.

Investigators were still trying to determine if the crash occurred before or after the shots were fired, and if the shots were fired from inside or outside the car, Ray said.

The spokesman said Cruz did not die from a self-inflicted wound.

Ray said investigators have yet to identify any suspects.
