Giants advance in Memorial Cup

VANCOUVER, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants rallied for two third period goals to come from behind and defeat the Lewiston MAINEiacs 2-1 in round-robin action on Sundayat the 2007 MasterCard Memorial Cup tournament at Pacific Coliseum.

The victory improves the Giants to 2-0 at the tournament – the host team defeated the OHL Champion Plymouth Whalers 4-3 in overtime in the opening round-robin game on Friday – and guarantees them at least a spot in the semifinal on Friday. The MAINEiacs see their record fall to 1-1 after the defeat.
