Guns, drugs, puppy seized

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

The Spokane Gang Enforcement Team arrested two men Tuesday, seizing weapons, illegal drugs and a pilfered pit bull puppy.

Brian J. Zacherle, 30, and Harry A. Solomon, 20, were suspects in a recent burglary at the Ranch Motel, 1609 E. Lewis Rd. A pit bull puppy and AR-15 rifle were taken at that time.

On Tuesday, officers said they spotted the two men leaving their home at 2005 N. Atlantic St. with the puppy.

Officers arrested Zacherle and Solomon and then obtained search warrants for Zacherle’s vehicle and the home.

During the home search, Gang Enforcement Team members found a sawed-off .410 shotgun and large quantities of ammunition.

The vehicle search uncovered the stolen rifle, three pistols and marijuana packed for sale.

Both men were booked on charges of first degree burglary and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Detectives are looking for information that might link the two men to home invasion robberies in the area, with thefts of money, drugs and weapons.

Anyone with information is asked to call (509) 625-4264.
