How’s your password?

The Spokesman-Review

To those of you who still use your wife, daughter or son’s name for a password — OK, fine. But don’t say we didn’t warn you.

At least go to the online password checker at Microsoft and find out how weak or strong your passwords are.

It’s at www.microsoft.com/protect/yourself/password/checker.mspx.

The checker lets you pop in some password choices and then tells you if it’s a poor or a good choice. It does not store password choices.

Clearly it considers only passwords that are random and include both numerals and letters as strong. We threw in 20 names of Beatles songs, and every one came out as weak.
