Russell Crowe is about ready to be baptized at age 43.

“I’d like to do it this year,” the Oscar-winning actor (for “Gladiator”) tells Men’s Journal.

“My mom and dad decided to let my brother and me make our own decisions about God when we got to the right age,” he says.

“I started thinking recently, ‘If I believe it is important to baptize my kids, why not me?’ “

Crowe says the baptism will take place in the Byzantine chapel he built at his country ranch in Australia for his wedding to Danielle Spencer in 2003.

The couple have two sons, 3-year-old Charlie and 1-year-old Tennyson.

“It is consecrated and everything,” Crowe says. “Charlie was baptized there. And when Tennyson gets baptized there, I will, too.”

Crowe, who has a reputation for throwing temper tantrums, is more spiritual than people may think.

“I do believe there are more important things than what is in the mind of a man,” he says.

“There is something much bigger that drives us all. I’m willing to take that leap of faith.”

Coming back Rosie

Rosie O’Donnell, who famously clashed with a co-host on “The View,” is close to being her own boss again.

O’Donnell, whose dispute with Elisabeth Hasselbeck hastened her departure from ABC’s daytime gabfest in May, is in negotiations to host a prime-time talk show on MSNBC.

She hosted her own daytime talk show from 1996 to 2002 and founded a short-lived magazine before her nine-month “View” run.

Goodbye, getaways

Giada De Laurentiis, the star of Food Network’s “Everyday Italian” and “Giada’s Weekend Getaways,” says she is expecting her first child, a baby girl, in April.

De Laurentiis, 37, announced her pregnancy on NBC’s “Today Show,” where she is a contributing correspondent.

She is the granddaughter of movie producer Dino De Laurentiis.

Feeling no pain

“Transformers” star Shia LaBeouf has been charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing after refusing to leave a drug store.

A security guard told LaBeouf, 21, that he needed to leave the Walgreens store in Chicago because he appeared to be drunk.

Vocal anesthetic

Finally, on the ailing singers beat, Rosanne Cash is facing brain surgery for a rare but benign condition and must cancel the last four dates on her “Black Cadillac” tour.

Cash, 52, the oldest daughter of the late Johnny Cash, is expected to make a full recovery and resume her career next spring.

And Meat Loaf has canceled a European tour after developing a cyst on his vocal cords.

The 56-year-old rocker will have four to six weeks of vocal therapy before doctors decide whether he needs surgery.
