Huckleberry’s switches to organic beef

Huckleberry’s Natural Market will now sell only organic beef.

Huckleberry’s meat department manager Mike Mohr says they switched to Dakota Beef because it is 100 percent organic.

“Natural” beef cannot contain any artificial flavoring or coloring, chemical preservatives or synthetic products. However, it does not cover growing techniques, restrictions on feed, veterinary care or growth stimulants, according to a news release.

A Dakota Beef representative will be at Huckleberry’s, 926 S. Monroe St., on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. He will grill organic beef samples and provide cooking tips and recipes.
