Hayley Hills had 19 kills and Kristen Ponce added five aces to guide Eastern Washington to a 30-17, 30-17, 30-25 win over Boise State in a non-conference volleyball match Thursday at Reese Court in Cheney.

Mandy Daniels added 11 digs for the Eagles, who improved to 13-13 on the season with two matches left. The Broncos fell to 5-21.

•Hana Cutura had 11 kills and Carli Lloyd dished out a match-high 48 assists to lead No. 7 California to a 30-16, 30-18, 30-28 win over Washington State in a Pac-10 match in Pullman.

WSU fell to 9-18 and 0-13 in the Pac-10 while California improved to 20-5, 10-4.

•Haley Larson had 16 kills and 22 digs to guide Idaho to a 30-21, 30-20, 30-28 Western Athletic Conference win over Fresno State (5-22, 3-12 WAC) in Fresno, Calif. However, Utah State’s win over Nevada denied Idaho (12-14, 8-7) a fourth-place finish and a berth in the conference tournament.

•Fourth-ranked Washington fell 30-23, 24-30, 30-25, 21-30, 15-10 to No. 5 Stanford in Seattle.

The Huskies fell to 22-2 and 12-2 in the Pac-10 while the Cardinal improved to 23-2, 12-2.

Men’s soccer

Whitworth coach Sean Bushey was named the Northwest Conference Coach of the Year while 10 Pirates players were named to the All-NWC team.

Skye Henderson, Matt Friesen, Brett Kagawa, Scott Barnum and Keith Kirsch were all first-team selections while Ben Dixon was named to the second team.

Travis Jette, Bryan Olson, Ryan Powers and Ben Rotert earned honorable mention.
