Election is encouraging

The Spokesman-Review

I’m fired up. For the first time in the odd 40 years I’ve lived in the Spokane area, the power is in the hands of the people.

It shows that hard work and grass-roots organizing works. It will beat those big dollars if applied correctly. We now have a larger task ahead of us with the upcoming presidential elections nearing and a lot of work to do.

Let’s keep digging, keep calling your Congress person, call your senators, write letters, organize. It’s up to us. Perhaps a new day is dawning in America the beautiful, the brave, the free.

Maybe we can have peace instead of war. Maybe we can have an egalitarian society instead of imperialist society. Maybe we could be friends with the world again. America the shining light, land of opportunity and the American dream!
