SEATTLE – A Kent woman who let two of her children starve to death while she drank beer has been sentenced in Seattle to 34 years in prison.
Thirty-nine-year-old Marie Robinson pleaded guilty last month to manslaughter in the deaths three years ago of two sons – 16-month-old Justice and 6-week-old Raiden.
She was found in a drunken stupor amid 300 empty beer cans.
A 2-year-old son, Phoenix, who survived by eating dry rice and noodles that he found in the apartment, now lives with a relative.
Defense lawyers had argued that Robinson was mentally ill. A plea agreement was reached after she was found competent to stand trial.
