VICTOR BUTLER, OSU LEFT DEFENSIVE END

The Oregon State front may be the best in the Pac-10 and its best pass rusher is the 6-foot-2, 233-pound junior from Rialto, Calif. Butler has nine sacks, many of them coming when right end Jeff Van Orsow flushes the quarterback from the back side.

DEVIN FRISCHKNECHT, WSU TIGHT END

Starter Jed Collins will probably play despite a sprained left ankle, but expect to see Frischknecht more often this week. The 6-3, 256-pound transfer from Snow College has been seeing the field more recently as he comes to better understand the nuances of WSU passing attack.

ALEXIS SERNA, OSU KICKER

It seems like Serna has been at Oregon State forever, maybe because he made his college debut in Baton Rouge back in 2004, missing four extra points in a 22-21 overtime loss to LSU. But Serna, a redshirt senior, didn’t let that televised disaster destroy him and is only four points behind running back Ken Simonton’s school record of 366 career points.
