Ali Johnson had a game-high 19 points and Kama Griffitts added 17 points and six rebounds as the Coeur d’Alene girls basketball team opened its season Friday with a 65-24 rout of Rigby in Coeur d’Alene.

The Vikings converted 16 of their 24 free-throw attempts and built a 40-11 halftime-lead.

In other non-league games, Katie Baker had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Emma Hawn added eight points and 12 assists as Lake City beat visiting Madison 66-15. The Timberwolves (1-0) outscored the Bobcats 24-0 in the second quarter.

•Timberlake jumped out to a 20-2 first-quarter lead and coasted to a 53-21 win over Wallace (0-2) at the Silver Valley Tournament in Wallace. Cassie Thompson had 18 points to lead the Tigers (2-0). Also at the tournament, Amanda Seeling had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Kellogg (2-1) to a 55-38 win over Bonners Ferry (0-1). The Wildcats will play Timberlake tonight at 7:30 while the Badgers will play Wallace at 6. … At Mullan, Bailey Hewitt had 17 points and Megan Hess added 15 as Clark Fork defeated Mullan 52-28 in both teams’ season opener.
