Associated Press The Spokesman-Review

Rick DiPietro earned his 100th NHL victory with an 18-save effort Monday night as the New York Islanders beat the New York Rangers for the third time this season, 2-1.

DiPietro, the first goalie ever drafted No. 1 when the Islanders took the Massachusetts native in 2000, had a stellar performance against his team’s biggest rival.
