Vishing. (n.)

Vishing is the voice version of phishing (which is the victimization of computer users by making them react to a bogus e-mail message from what appears to be a trusted source).

Vishing is the use of Voice over Internet Protocol (or VoIP) systems to trick people into revealing or providing personal, financial or other confidential information to the creator of the “vishing” message.

The use of computers in voice phone systems today means calls can originate and end with a personal computer, making it difficult to tell where the caller and receiver are geographically.
