The science of motion is being explored in a new exhibit at Mobius Kids in downtown Spokane. “Cool Moves! The Artistry of Motion” features 14 different exhibits. Kids can check out motion in swirling water, a tornado and a “dancing wall” that plays lights and music in response to motion.

The exhibit also includes an “Animals in Motion” that showcases different ways animals move in the air, in the water and on the ground. How pendulums move and how magnets work will also be explored.

Mobius Kids, at 808 W. Main Ave., in the lower level of River Park Square, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is $5.75 per person; children under 12 months are free. Call (509) 624-KIDS or visit www.mobiusspokane.org for more information.

It’s Amaizing

It’s time to get lost in acres of corn during the annual Amaizing Corn Maze. This year’s event includes several different mazes spread out over more than 12 acres on Beck Road north of Seltice Way in Post Falls. Once you make your way out of the fields, there will be music, games and food to keep you busy. Pets aren’t allowed, so leave Fido at home. No purses or backpacks will be allowed in the maze, so plan accordingly.

The maze is open and will continue through Oct. 29. Hours are from 4 to 11 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturdays and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. The Haunted Maze begins on Oct. 19. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and ages 5 through 12. Children age 4 and under are free. For more details and directions, call (509) 242-CORN.
