Madison Elementary a Blue Ribbon School

Margaret Spellings, the U.S. Secretary of Education, has named Madison Elementary School as a 2007 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School.

The honor recognizes both public and private kindergarten through 12th grade schools that are academically superior in their states or that demonstrate dramatic signs in student achievement.

The schools nominated must have at least 40 percent of students with a disadvantaged background and must be improving on state tests or are among the top 10 percent on state tests.

Madison earned the award for achieving in the top 10 percent.
