Page Ahead Children’s Literacy Program – Volunteers are needed to read stories to children in preschools and kindergartens. Volunteers must agree to a background check. Visit http://pageahead.org for more information.

Spokane AARP Tax-Aide Program – Volunteers are needed to provide assistance and tax preparation services to low and middle income tax payers. Interested participants will be trained in the fall in order to volunteer during traditional tax season, January to April. Volunteers will receive free comprehensive tax training and will be reimbursed on a limited basis for qualified program-related expenses. Tax training and certification are encouraged, but are not required. Contact Stephanie Blumhagen at 838-6581 ext. 112.

Spokane Regional Health District – Volunteers are needed to assist in a statewide exercise drill for public health on November 1st. Training will be available before the event as well as on site. Contact Melinda “bob” Maureen at 324-1461.
