Wine tasting will aid breast cancer awareness

Huckleberry’s Natural Market, 926 S. Monroe Ave., continues to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Pink Ribbon wine tasting on Friday.

Beginning at 7 p.m., “pink friendly” wines, such as Luna di Luna Pink Merlot, Terra D’Oro Barbera, and Chateau St. Michelle Pinot Grigio and Syrah and a taste plate filled with cheese, crackers, and breads will be served to raise money for the Spokane Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and breast cancer research.

Tickets are $25 and includes six wine pourings. Proceeds will benefit the local Race for the Cure and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Call (509) 624-1349 for more information.

Raise the Roof

The 12th annual Raise the Roof Auction for Habitat for Humanity will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday at the Northern Quest Casino Pavilion. The evening will begin with a silent auction, dinner will be at 7 p.m., followed by a live auction. Auction items include vacation packages, fine art and more.

Tickets are $60, and proceeds will help build another affordable home for a low-income family.

The Pumpkin Ball

Next Saturday, enjoy a magical evening at The Pumpkin Ball, a benefit for the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery and Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital.

Held at the Spokane Convention Center, the event will begin at 5:30 p.m. The evening’s auction, The Grape Escape, includes sought-after wines offered by Leonetti, Woodward Canyon and Duckhorn Vineyards. Other festivities included in the evening are dinner, the pumpkin-carving contest, dancing and bids-for-kids.

Octobrewfest

The 12th annual Octobrewfest Microwbrew Tasting and Auction will be held next Saturday at the Spokane Fair and Expo Center.

The doors open at 6 p.m. and you must be 21 or older to attend. The evening includes microbrews, wine, food, and an auction. Auction items include autographed collectables, event tickets, dinners and more.

Tickets are $13 in advance or $15 at the door. Proceeds benefit the Inland Northwest Chapter, National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Harvest Moon and HalloWine

Reserve your seats today for the Harvest Moon Auction and HalloWine Tasting, hosted by the Inland Northwest Business Travel Association on Oct. 24.

Held at the Davenport Hotel, the event begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes wine donated by Forest Glen Wineries, a raffle, and an auction. Raffle tickets will be sold for $1 for a Seattle Seahawks game package valued at $2,000.
