Slowpitch softball

Brooke Ford allowed four hits through seven innings to guide Central Valley to a 7-0 win over Lewis and Clark (11-5) in a Greater Spokane League semifinal playoff game Tuesday at CV.

Hayley Saxby put the Bears on top early, hitting a three-run home run in the first inning.

CV added two more runs in the second to take a commanding 5-0 lead.

Becky White went 4 for 4 and Genasee Aman added three hits for the Bears (13-2).

In the other semifinal contest, University scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to break a tie as the Titans topped Shadle Park 6-3 at U-Hi. Kali Reid had three hits, including a solo homer, and scored two runs to lead the Titans (14-1). Breann Warren drove in two runs and scored twice for U-Hi, which advances to play CV for the championship at 4 p.m. Thursday at U-Hi.

Volleyball

Alyssa Wold dished out 18 assists and added four aces and nine blocks to lead West Valley (10-1) to a 25-17, 25-18, 25-14 Great Northern League win over host Medical Lake (3-8). Carly Sorshorst had 11 kills and 10 digs to lead the Cardinals. Shaniqua Nilles added seven kills and nine digs for the Eagles, who remain in first place in the league standings. … Elsewhere in the league, Megan Evans had nine kills and Kerri Spangenberg added 27 assists and five aces to lead Pullman (8-1) to a 25-13, 25-11, 25-19 win over visiting Riverside (4-7). Liz McKinney had 10 assists and 11 digs to lead the Rams. …Emilee Lepp had 13 kills and Jordan Emmil added 19 assists to lead Colville (8-1) to a 28-26, 25-12, 25-19 win over visiting Cheney (2-9). Missy Gill had 15 digs to lead the Blackhawks. … Ariana Obert had 25 digs, four blocks and three aces to lead Deer Park to a 12-25, 25-20, 31-29, 26-24 win over host Clarkston. Mellisa Veal had 14 kills and Stacia Obert added 12 assists for the Stags (4-7). The Bantams (2-7) were led by Kellie McCann-Smith, who had 13 kills and 13 digs.

Girls soccer

Kellie Zakrzewski recorded her eighth multigoal match of the season with goals in the first and second halves to give Cheney a 2-0 Great Northern League win over visiting West Valley (11-3, 9-3). The Blackhawks (12-2, 11-1) outshot the Eagles 15-2. … In other league action, Niina Al-Hassan scored two goals to lead Pullman to a 4-0 win over host Lakeside (8-6, 7-4) in Nine Mile Falls. Emily Bottemiller and Kendra Heim added goals for the Greyhounds (13-1, 11-0), who held a 12-6 advantage in shots. Meg Druffel had five saves for Pullman to preserve the shutout. The Greyhounds will travel to Cheney to play the Blackhawks on Thursday with the league title on the line. … Savannah Raczkowski scored two goals in the second half, both off assists from Chelsea Hardenbrook, to give Medical Lake (5-9, 4-8) a 2-0 win over visiting Clarkston (2-11, 2-10). Raczkowski scored her first goal in the 71st minute and scored again 3 minutes later. Ariel Jones had four saves for the Cardinals. … Shea Spicer and Tabitha Grow scored first-half goals and Riverside (7-6, 7-5) held on to beat visiting Colville 2-1. Amy Shaw scored in the 67th minute to bring the Indians (4-9, 3-9) within one, but that was close as they would come. The Rams held an 11-6 advantage in shots. … Kandace Leliefeld’s hat trick lifted Deer Park (5-9, 4-7) to a 6-0 win over host Chewelah (0-13, 0-11). Leliefeld scored 2 minutes into the match and scored her second goal 5 minutes later. Leliefeld completed the hat trick with a goal in the 46th minute to open the scoring in the second half. Stevie Harris, Makenzie Lowther and Dominique Swenson added goals for the Stags. Deer Park dominated the action, outshooting the Cougars 34-5.

Cross country

The Colville boys beat Pullman and West Valley while the West Valley girls took the team title at a Great Northern League meet in Colville. Colville’s Jake Hastings placed first, finishing the 3-mile course in 17 minutes, 50 seconds. WV’s Kystal Hughes paced the girls in 21:15 while teammate Camille Mackie was second in 21:42. … Elsewhere in the league, Deer Park swept Clarkston in Deer Park. The Stags took the top five spots for the boys, led by Mike Carbajal, who finished in 17:20. Kyle Hall was second (17:44), followed by Reggie Peone (17:46). For the girls, Deer Park’s Chantel Duenich won in 19:55 while sister Jessica Duenich took second, 1 second back.
