NIC program plans sailing clinic

North Idaho College’s Outdoor Pursuits outdoor sports program will offer a clinic in October to teach participants how to sail, using a large Catalina 22 for instruction.

The clinic will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 27 and Nov. 3 on NIC’s Yap-Keehn-Um Beach on Lake Coeur d’Alene.

The clinic will teach adults basic sailing skills, equipment use, nomenclature and technology. The boat has a heated cabin and participants will get to learn on a quiet, off-season lake.

A fee of $195 covers the cost of instruction and all related equipment.

No experience is necessary, but participants should be able to swim. Space is limited, so sign up early to reserve a spot. Call Outdoor Pursuits at (208) 769-7809.
