Gregoire to dress up as penguin

OLYMPIA – Gov. Chris Gregoire can be serious and intense in her day job. But she plans to clown around as a singing penguin when she greets Olympia children at the Governor’s Mansion for trick-or-treating on Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Gregoire says she’s dressing up as Mumble, the world’s worst singing penguin, and her husband, Mike, will be costumed as Loveless the Guru, another penguin. Both are characters in the movie “Happy Feet.”

Gregoire says the first 500 guests will get a penguin book. Each child will get a chocolate bar; and five of those will have a hidden ticket good for a holiday season tour of the mansion.
