Roundup: Timberlake rolls over St. Maries

Nick Puckett ran for 123 yards on 17 carries and scored five touchdowns to lead the host Timberlake Tigers to a 56-8 Intermountain League victory over the St. Maries Lumberjacks at Spirit Lake.

Puckett scored on runs of 15, 25, 20, 20 and 10 yards and also had a two-point conversion run as the Tigers ran for 267 yards as a team.

Levi Powers ran for two touchdowns for Timberlake (6-2, 4-0).

Jarrod Bitterman threw a 7-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown pass for St. Maries (1-7, 0-4).

“Elsewhere in the IML, Cole Lewis rumbled 33 times for 224 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Kellogg Wildcats to a 62-18 victory over the Bonners Ferry Badgers (2-6, 2-2) at Bonners Ferry.

Jeremiah Big Spring caught three Ty Ketchum touchdown passes to add to the Kellogg attack.

Kellogg (5-2, 3-1) had 463 yards, 354 coming on the ground.

North Star League

Tom Norris scored four touchdowns and ran for three two-point conversions to lead the Wallace Miners (5-2, 2-2) to a 52-6 victory over the Lakeside Knights (0-6, 0-4) at Wallace. Marcus Matile ran for one touchdown and hit Norris for a 41-yard second-quarter scoring strike.

Non-league

Jayson Washington had scoring runs of 39 and 88 yards on his way to 171 yards rushing and Michael Bafzler had two scoring runs to lead the Moscow Bears (3-5) past the Priest River Spartans (2-6) 48-0 at Priest River.

Great Northern League

Jared Byers had 19 carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns as the Pullman Greyhounds (8-0, 5-0) beat Cheney 35-21 at Cheney. Jesus Fregoso scored twice for the Blackhawks (4-4, 2-3). … At Deer Park, Ryan Jorgenson threw for two touchdown – both to Brad Rumann – and ran for one touchdown to lead the Stags (3-5, 1-4) to a 51-0 blanking of the Medical Lake Cardinals (2-6, 0-5). … At Riverside, Parker Flynn caught three Bryan Peterson scoring passes and returned a kickoff for another touchdown to lead the West Valley Eagles (4-4, 3-2) to a 43-26 win over Riverside (4-4, 1-4). WV also scored on an interception return. … At Clarkston, Brian O’Kelley scored twice to lead the Bantams (8-0, 5-0) past the Colville Indians (6-2, 3-2) 29-14.
