Alex Brink a class act

The Spokesman-Review

Late last week one of the local television stations interviewed Washington State quarterback Alex Brink about his return to Eugene to play, for the first time, at Autzen Stadium.

What a refreshing young man. He appeared freshly shaven, with a recent haircut, and wearing a suit and tie. No cap worn backward, or worse yet, sideways on his head. No earrings or other visible adornment on his face or ears and no visible tattoos. On top of that, he was well spoken and managed to complete the interview without the use of any of the common, not to mention trite, clichés so common among young people today.

Following the game Saturday he was again interviewed, this time by the sports announcers at the game. Obviously, and deservedly tired, he maintained his poise, and once again gave a great interview.

If I were responsible for hiring personnel in any company in this young man’s field, I would be recruiting him actively.
