Community update: Fit for the Cure at Macy’s aids Komen foundation

Breast Cancer Awareness month continues at Macy’s at Northtown Mall on Friday with the seventh annual Fit for the Cure, sponsored by Wacoal.

Beginning at 11 a.m., women are encouraged to make an appointment at Macy’s lingerie department, but walk-ins are welcome.

Wacoal will donate $2 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation with each appointment, and it will donate an additional $2 for each Wacoal bra sold.

Wacoal’s national fundraiser promises a minimum donation of $250,000 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Lions Club haunted house

From now until Halloween, the Post Falls Lions Club Haunted House is open for your terrifying pleasure.

The house, at Fourth and Post, is open from 6 to 10 p.m. tonight, Friday and Saturday and will be closed Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, Thursday and next Sunday, it will be open 6 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $6.

D4 Masquerade Ball

Have a ball for kids at the first a D4 Masquerade Ball on Saturday, to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County at the Greyhound Park and Events Center, 5100 Riverbend Ave., Post Falls.

The evening will include dinner, dancing and the opportunity to bid on travel destination packages and a raffle for a 1-carat Clark Jeweler’s diamond pendant, all beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Halloween bake sale

Enjoy Halloween treats and help those in need at the “Has Beens” and “Gonna Bees” Halloween Bake Sale on Saturday.

Homemade cakes, candies, cookies, and more will be on sale at the Kmart at 6606 N. Division St. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
