Give Rogers a chance

The Spokesman-Review

I couldn’t believe my Bob Rob-listening ears when Alex Brink trotted on field to start the third quarter down 40-0 at Oregon.

Throwing more chum to a hungry shark only makes it hungrier, and Oregon was a rapacious, crimson-eating team.

Brink admitted he played horrible, so why wouldn’t Gary Rogers at least get a “shot” to start the second half? That’s not putting Alex down, that’s just showing him some love and kindness, for crying out loud.

Except for ASU, the Cougs have looked like a demolition derby car with four flats wobbling into the pits in our other blowout losses. Breaking stats while the car rolls over isn’t cutting it.

Rogers must be pondering just why he didn’t follow Josh Swogger to Montana. The Cougs are going the wrong way with a ruptured fuel tank. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it? This thing’s broken.

Where’s a head coach with some 20/20 vision here? Me thinks he’s in El Paso and might be more than willing to once again cast his magic and help return some football glory back to the Palouse.
