Gonzaga did right thing

The Spokesman-Review

I was pleased that Gonzaga has reinstated the two young men (Josh Heytvelt, Theo Davis) and are allowing them to play basketball for the school. They have definitely paid a substantial price for their youthful indiscretions.

Any university would want students of character and promise to represent it. Gonzaga has shown us two young men, able to handle a public airing of their personal problems, and continue to be the example of what is good about the youth of this country.

I would hope I would respond to adversity as well as these two young men. They have learned a lesson that will guide the rest of their lives. I am certain they will represent Gonzaga well and never again do something without looking at the consequences – a lesson that should be learned early in life.
