People: This evil woman is from ‘Mars’

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

Kristen Bell is giving ‘em Elle on “Heroes.”

Bell, who was the coolest teen detective since Nancy Drew on “Veronica Mars,” takes a walk on the supernatural dark side as a new player in NBC’s hit superhero odyssey.

“She’s a very fierce and intense personality,” Bell says of the mysterious Elle.

“When she wants something, she wants it, and she wants it now. Which is good when you’re working with the good guys and is really bad when you’re working with the bad guys.”

It was pretty clear when Elle first appeared Monday – tracking down missing hero Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) in Ireland – that she’s using a rather nefarious playbook.

For Bell, 27, the chance to get into a more menacing groove on “Heroes” has been a treat after three seasons of playing a do-right high school sleuth on “Mars.”

It’s not her only new TV job this fall. She’s also the snarky narrator of “Gossip Girl,” CW’s hot buzz drama for teens.

Says Bell: “It’s sort of an easy deal for me because it’s not on camera. I’ve always dreamt about having a job where I could go and show up in my jammies.”

Yup, still crazy like a …

Rapper Foxy Brown is serving 76 days in punitive segregation at Rikers Island jail, spending up to 23 hours a day in isolation.

Brown scuffled with another inmate, and later was abusive toward guards and refused to take a drug test, a prison spokesman said.

She’s serving a year at Rikers for violating her probation from a fight she had with manicurists in a Manhattan nail salon.

Way to make them cry, uncle

A defense attorney says Vincent Margera was being his wacky “Don Vito” at a skatepark where he allegedly fondled three girls.

Margera, the uncle of “Viva La Bam” star Bam Margera, appeared in the MTV show.

His trial began Tuesday on three felony counts of sexual assault on girls age 12 and 14.

“Fans came to see the crazy, outrageous, profane uncle,” his lawyer told jurors. “That’s who they wanted their picture taken with.”

Yet another boy gone bad

Joe Francis, the jailed founder of the sexually provocative “Girls Gone Wild” video empire, has launched an ad campaign on his legal woes.

He was cited for contempt after yelling at attorneys in a lawsuit brought by women who were underage when they were filmed.

Francis says he’s being treated like a “terrorist” and features a photo of himself during a 2004 White House campaign-donor visit in ads on Florida newspaper Web sites.

Well, somebody learned a lesson

An Alabama etiquette expert and four associates featured in the hit movie “Borat” have filed a federal lawsuit against star Sacha Baron Cohen and 20th Century Fox.

The suit says they were led to believe they were participating in an educational documentary by hosting Cohen at a dinner party, where he asked whether they owned slaves and presented a black woman as a prostitute he had asked to dine with them.
