Timberlake routs Bonners Ferry

Nick Puckett ran for 226 yards on 10 carries and scored three total touchdowns and Josh Malloy added 131 rushing yards and four scores as host Timberlake routed Bonners Ferry 56-8 in a 3A play-in game Friday at Spirit Lake.

Brian Maldanado and Levi Powers each threw touchdown passes for the Tigers (7-2), who led 35-0 after the first quarter.

Timberlake will host the winner of today’s Kellogg-Weiser game next Saturday.

The Badgers (2-7) had their season end.

North Star League

Mike Martin threw for 178 yards and five touchdowns to lead Clark Fork to a 34-0 rout of visiting Lakeside (0-7, 0-5) in both teams’ final North Star League game of the season. Drew Wilkenson caught four passes for 118 yards and three touchdowns and Austin Martin added two touchdown receptions for the Wampus Cats, who built a 28-0 halftime lead. Clark Fork (6-4, 4-1) will travel to Harrison to play the Kootenai Warriors (7-1) next Saturday at 1 p.m. in the first round of the playoffs.

Great Northern League

John Fowler scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter to break a tie and give Colville a 13-7 win over Cheney in a Great Northern League game in Colville. Morgan Fowler recovered a fumble in the third quarter and returned it to the Blackhawks 5-yard line to set up the go-ahead score. Cheney’s Griffin Jones caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Brandon Hardie in the first quarter to give the Blackhawks a 7-0 lead. The Indians’ Brandon Katzer responded with a 76-yard touchdown run in the second to tie the game at 7 heading into the half. Katzer finished with 126 yards on 10 carries for Colville (7-2, 4-2), while Jesus Fregoso had 29 carries for 141 yards to lead Cheney (4-5, 2-4). … In other league action, Bryan Peterson completed 10 of 17 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns, leading West Valley to a 33-0 shutout of visiting Deer Park (3-6, 1-5). Andy Vennum added two rushing scores and a touchdown reception for the Eagles (5-4, 4-2). … Derek Martin rushed for 99 yards and scored three touchdowns to guide Riverside to a 42-15 win over host Medical Lake (2-7, 0-6). Martin scored on 5- and 10-yard runs in the first quarter to give the Rams a 13-0 lead. Riverside (5-4, 2-4) added 15 points in the second and led 28-0 at the half.

Northeast 2B League

Chad Godley and Chase Bell ran for two touchdowns each to guide Reardan to a 55-6 rout of visiting Selkirk (3-5, 1-4). Josh Eldred added 145 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Indians (7-1, 5-0), who built a 34-0 halftime lead. … Elsewhere, Jordan Hancock ran for two touchdowns and threw for another score to guide Republic (4-3, 2-3) to a 24-16 win over host Liberty (4-4, 1-4). The Tigers’ Jeff Beck added a touchdown reception and returned a fumble 20 yards for a score in the fourth quarter. … Davenport outscored Springdale 28-0 in the first quarter and cruised to a 41-14 win. Jake Ford, Max Barger, P.J. Hill, Alan Cantrell and Justin Piper all scored rushing touchdowns for the Gorillas (4-5, 4-1). Jake Edwards ran for a score and caught a pass for another touchdown to lead the Chargers (1-7, 1-5).
