Jon Whipple has been hired by Cornerstone Property Advisors as a commercial real estate agent.

Desautel Hege Communications has hired Nick Lawhead as an account assistant. He holds a degree in public relations from Eastern Washington University.

Dr. Joseph Johns has been hired by Inland Cardiology Associates in Coeur d’Alene. He holds a medical degree from the University of Colorado.

He studied internal medicine at the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Colorado and cardiology at the Brook Army Medical Center in Texas.

Kimberly Thielman has been hired as a senior account executive at Asuris Northwest Health. She is a graduate of Gonzaga University and has more than 10 years of experience.

Karin Olsen has been hired as director of development for special projects at Washington State University. She previously worked as the director of external relations for the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada.

Luis Mercado has been hired as a small-volume parenteral manager at HollisterStier Laboratories. He previously worked as a manufacturing supervisor for McNeil, a Johnson & Johnson division, in Puerto Rico.

Catholic Charities of Spokane has hired Theresa Dryden as a special event and Christmas Bureau coordinator.

She holds a degree in business administration from the University of Montana-Western.

Jeni Forman has been hired as director of sales and marketing by Hewes Marine. She was previously executive director for the Tri-County Economic Development District covering Ferry, Stevens and Pend Oreille counties.

Roxanne Baker has been hired as an advanced registered nurse practitioner by Inland Cardiology Associates in Spokane. She holds a master’s degree of science in nursing, family nurse practitioner from Gonzaga University. She specializes in electrophysiology and interventional cardiology and helped develop the Deaconess Regional Hyperbaric Center and Comprehensive Wound Clinic.

Telect has hired Stephany Manning as human resources manager. She previously worked for Sunshine Mining in Coeur d’Alene.

PROMOTIONS Brady Cass has been promoted to director of Eastern Washington at Asuris Northwest Health. He has been with the company for two years. He was previously the vice president of sales and marketing for Marsh USA and was director of sales for QualMed Health Plan.

Dave Sonntag has been promoted to director of marketing and communications at Eastern Washington University.

He has been with the university for three years.

Robbie Paul has been promoted to director for Native American Health Sciences Programs at Washington State University in Spokane. She was previously the Native American recruitment and retention coordinator for the WSU Intercollegiate College of Nursing. She holds a doctorate of philosophy in leadership from Gonzaga University.

Timothy Martin has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer at Coldwater Creek.

He was previously vice president of finance.

APPOINTED Jac Davies, director of program development for Inland Northwest Health Services, has been appointed to the board of directors of OneHealthPort in Seattle. The organization gives health care providers secure access to the Web sites of major hospitals and health plans.

ELECTED Dr. Ryan Holbrook has been elected president of Cancer Care Northwest.

KUDOS Judith Owens, of Spokane, has been reappointed to a three-year term on the Employee Retirement Benefits Board by Gov. Chris Gregoire. Owens works for the Central Valley School District and is a member of the Liberty Lake City Council.

Best Western Pheasant Hill in Spokane Valley has received the Best Western Chairman’s Award for outstanding quality standards. The hotel earned the maximum points possible on a cleanliness and maintenance inspection.

Ray Rieckers, of Spokane, has been reappointed to a four-year term on the Washington State Housing Finance Commission by Gov. Chris Gregoire. He is assistant director of the Spokane Neighborhood Action Program and an adjunct professor at Eastern Washington University. The commission issues revenue bonds and participates in programs to help provide low-income housing.

GIFTS Asuris Northwest Health has given $20,000 to Sacred Heart Hospital and the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery to support the annual Pumpkin Ball hosted by the two organizations. The annual fundraiser will be held Oct. 20.
