Additional ballots will be sold for $1, $5, $10, $25, $50 and $100. Proceeds will benefit the Wishing Star Foundation which helps grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.

Lemonade fundraiser

Yoke’s Foods in Spokane will join XO Communications employees on Friday for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Fundraising Event. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Yoke’s will have a lemonade stand in its parking lot. Proceeds will benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, raising money for childhood cancer education and research.

In 2000, 4-year-old Alex Scott – diagnosed with cancer when he was 1 – opened a lemonade stand to raise money for cancer research. Alex died in 2004 but Alex’s Lemonade Stands continue to raise money.
