Comparison unfair

The Spokesman-Review

What a joke! In last Sunday’s edition (Sept. 2 Letters, “Baze gets off lightly”), Lynda Koers is comparing Michael Vick to Russell Baze?

Vick bred dogs to fight then executed them when they didn’t perform. Baze is a hall-of-fame jockey who made a bad decision in a heated battle of trying to win a horse race. Vick denied any wrongdoing until the bitter end. Baze admitted his mistake, apologized to all fans and will take his (15-day) suspension without appeal.

As a previous horse owner, I have had the pleasure to employ Baze as a jockey and as a result my horse won the race. Baze is a classy individual who gives you 100 percent each and every time he climbs aboard. It is unfair to compare his mistake to that of Michael Vick.
