One-car accident injures woman

A Wenatchee woman was injured Sunday evening in a one-car accident five miles west of Colfax on state Route 26, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Jacinda D. Case, 20, was transported to Deaconess Hospital after her westbound vehicle left the road around 7:44 p.m. and came to rest in the eastbound ditch. Case was driving a 2003 Oldsmobile Olero – which was totaled – and she was wearing a seatbelt. No drugs or alcohol were involved, according to a news release.

There were no charges and the accident is under investiga- tion, the state patrol said.

Missing Air Force captain found dead

The body of a missing Air Force captain from Florida has been recovered in Skamania County, Wash., authorities said Sunday.

Undersheriff Dave Cox said Capt. John Frueh’s rental car was found Saturday near Badger Peak and his body was discovered not far from the vehicle.

Cox said foul play is not suspected. Frueh, 33, arrived in Portland last month to attend a friend’s wedding. He last spoke with family on Aug. 30.

Officials focus on nightclubs

More than a dozen people were arrested during a crackdown on Seattle nightclubs where the suspects allegedly allowed underage drinking and other criminal activity.

Officers identified 28 individuals involved in criminal activity, and 17 were arrested Saturday.

The operation covered 10 days beginning in mid-August. Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske, City Attorney Tom Carr, and Washington State Liquor Control Board Chief Pat Parmer say undercover personnel found violations at 14 of the 15 clubs they visited in four popular districts.
