Girls soccer

Marissa Mykines scored two first-half goals and Mead downed host University 4-1 in the Greater Spokane League. Jackie Hakes and Breanne Taylor added goals in the second half for the Panthers (7-0, 3-0), who held the Titans (3-3, 1-1) to three shots.

Elsewhere in the GSL, Ashley Pajimola’s goal off an assist from Kristi Wirtz a minute into the overtime period lifted Shadle Park (4-1, 3-0) to a 1-0 victory over visiting Ferris (0-5, 0-3). Highlanders goalkeeper Jen Schwartz stopped six shots to preserve the shutout. … Jessica Cook and Kaylie Fox scored two goals apiece as Central Valley blanked host Rogers 5-0. Kelly Froehlich opened the scoring for the Bears (6-1, 2-1) with a goal in the first minute. Emma Olgard had 12 kills and Karyn Mockel dished out 29 assists as Mead (4-0) beat visiting East Valley 25-13, 29-27, 25-8 in the Greater Spokane League. Kelsey Kurtz had 15 assists and nine digs to lead the Knights (0-3). … Also in the GSL, Brianne Brown had eight kills and Lindsay Niemeier 23 assists as Shadle Park (4-0) beat Ferris (0-4) 25-17, 25-18, 25-21 at Spokane Falls Community College. Karli Schwab had 10 digs to lead the Saxons.

Boys soccer

Miguel Mendez had a goal and an assist, leading Bonners Ferry to a 4-1 Intermountain League win at St. Maries (2-10, 0-3). The Badgers (11-3-1, 5-0) led 2-1 at halftime.
