Panel postpones hearing on land-use requests

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

A Spokane Plan Commission hearing on two proposed amendments to the city’s comprehensive land-use plan that was scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed.

Black Development is seeking land-use changes from residential to commercial uses on two properties at 4901 and 5002 S. Regal St. involving about 29 acres of land.

Residents in the neighborhood have appealed a separate mitigated determination of environmental non-significance to the city hearing examiner.

That appeal is set for this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in conference room 2B at City Hall.

The plan commission wants to delay its deliberation so that the hearing examiner has more time to consider the appeal, according to city spokeswoman Marlene Feist.
