Anthony Via had the game-winning hit in extra innings for the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups (4-4) as they dropped the visiting Ferris Saxons 4-3 in Greater Spokane League action on Tuesday.

With one out in the bottom of the eighth and Kyle Schmidlkofer on third base, Via’s lone hit of the afternoon proved to be the difference.

Schmidlkofer was 2 for 2 with a double. Ferris is 5-3.

Also in the GSL, the Rogers Pirates (3-5) downed the visiting Lewis and Clark Tigers (0-7) 6-2 thanks to big day at the plate from Jake Partridge. His 3-for-3 performance included a triple, three runs scored and an RBI. Teammates Jacob Campbell and Chad Como both finished 2 for 3. Campbell had three RBIs and a double, while Como belted a home run. … The game between North Central and host Mead was postponed because of field conditions and has been rescheduled as a doubleheader at 1 p.m. today. … Central Valley and University postponed their game because of field conditions at U-Hi and rescheduled a doubleheader for today at 1 p.m. at CV. … Shadle Park and host Mt. Spokane rescheduled their game for a doubleheader today at Shadle. The first game will begin at 1 p.m.

Boys soccer

The Great Northern League match between Pullman and Chewelah was postponed because of snow on Chewelah’s field. No makeup date was set.
