Spokane police received a tip Wednesday morning and arrested notorious criminal Eddie Ray Hall. The 43-year-old repeat offender – who law enforcement officials estimate has cost the local justice system more than $1 million – was found in a room at the Motel 6 on Rustle Street, just off of Sunset Boulevard.
Hall was wanted on an escape warrant after he failed to report to his parole officer after his most recent release for a felony drug conviction, Officer Bill Hager said.
“An anonymous person called in and said he was up there,” Hager said. “We picked him up at about 10 a.m.”
Hall was also arrested in January after a mere 19 days of freedom. He had been sentenced to prison on charges of bail jumping, methamphetamine possession and possession of stolen property.
Hall’s criminal history includes more than 40 arrests and 10 felony convictions. Authorities estimated in 1998 that the $1 million in costs associated with Hall included money spent on incarceration and public defenders.
